Tirzepatide is an injectable peptide that is a GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) and GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) agonist that works on two receptor sites by targeting an area in the brain (called GLP-1 receptors) that help to regulate your appetite and how much you eat.  Both GLP-1 and GIP are incretin hormones that are released after eating.  Tirzepatide acts like two incretins, therefore,  it can cause more weight loss (about 20%).
